Formerly known as the Skyscape, the Loftsails 2026 Escape reflects years of fine-tuning, excellent test results, and a growing appreciation for just how versatile this design has become. Originally developed as a dedicated freefoil sail, Escape has proven equally capable on a fin, delivering smooth freeride handling and even freerace performance when the wind picks up.

With a slightly higher aspect ratio and shorter boom, Escape balances the low drag of a hydrofoil while maintaining crisp responsiveness underfoot. Its no-cam layout and lightweight construction make transitions effortless and help keep your board precisely trimmed through every maneuver.

For 2026, refinements across nearly every detail sharpen Escape’s all-round capabilities. Rescheduled luff curves and batten angle re-orientation improve balance and lower the sail’s center of gravity, creating a more neutral feel in the hands. A lower foot profile increases control and aerodynamic efficiency when fully powered, while the new 30mm mast panel seam and 5mil foot panels boost durability in demanding sessions.

Escape’s shape and trim range remain one of its strongest suits. New 2026 luff curves and finely tuned horizontal shaping induce an enormous tuning range, adapting easily to shifting conditions. Double clew eyelets add further to the sail’s wind range, allowing each size to continue performing across a broad wind spectrum.

When riding on a fin in lighter winds, Escape rewards an active approach, responding to precise sail work and pumping to generate early planing. But as soon as it powers up, the sail transforms—delivering stability, speed, and surprising freerace drive.
